Thanks @hannahyeoh for your 'brilliant' idea on how Subang - Kelana Link Highway should be constructed

Just now at Kompleks 3K Subang Jaya (6/1/2012) , YB Hanna Yeoh raised several issues .In this entry, I'm going to elaborate on the issue she mentioned about the traffic congestion problem at Summit junction traffic light, anyway it is just my point of view as an unregistered BEM member. Yes..everyone know it is due to RM 315 million Subang-Kelana Link Highway. She strongly suggest that this highway supposed to bypass the traffic light . (See picture below for reference)



Anyway, is it possible for the highway to bypass the traffic light and landed to either USJ 1 or 2 since there is a flyover across the KESAS highway ? If AZRB (the contractor) need to built the highway bypass the traffic light they have to deal with the approximately 120m existing flyover stretch . As per picture below (during the highway construction) , the pier distance from one another is approximately 50m . So by considering YB Hannah suggesation , there will be definitely one pier need to be built on top of the existing flyover. Does it make sense? Or they need to demolished the flyover for the pier's piling work? and rebuilt ? This will definitely increase the cost , some more I would say it is a stupid problem solving method. We don't want to solve a problem and create another problem ! Anyway it is ok to come with a solution with partially of the problems solved.  Rest of the unsolved problems can be solved along the way.


The scenario we have right now is the Subang - Kelana Link highway did reduce numbers of traffic congestion previously faced by Subang Jaya resident especially at Persiaran Kewajipaan roundabout, it might be even worse if the government did not built this highway. Unfortunately, it is impossible to extend the Subang - Kelana Link highway bypass the Summit junction traffic light due to the existing flyover.  Who would dare to use an elevated highway knowing that there is no pier support along the 120m stretch?

Then how do they built the LDP flyover "Penang Bridge Alike" crossing Federal Highway.

Underneath it also got existing 120m bridge right, before the flyover was built.

Do people also afraid using the bridge to cross from Sunway to Kelana Jaya vice versa...

1. LDP's cable stayed bridge spans 85 meter .

2. LDP's cable stayed bridge NOT continuously constructed from an elevated highway on the other hand Subang - Kelana Link highway is completely a different case.

3. It is impractical to built a cable stayed bridge continuously from an elevated highway, it'll be a different design ,numbers of elements need to be considered , existing buildings,houses , available space for bridge's pier construction ?

Kalau dah mentaliti pembangkang, mana ada idea yang baik. Semua idea lembu. Kalau dah lembu PR tu lembu jugak.

Lego ka, murah ke mahal ke.. kalau nak buat melintas highway KESAS tu boleh saja... bukan tak boleh.. kenapa nak cadangkan runtuh jambatan asal.. Penulis artikel ni lagi bengap.. engineer ke dia?

Even kalau tengok link yang sama melintas NPE di subang jaya lagi panjang dari LDP crossing faderal highway..

Keh keh keh, sebab aku engineer la aku tulis article ni...isk isk isk,nak komen jgn main hembus je..kena consider Right of Way (ROW),existing structure,buildings, safety..dan mcm lagi. Benda2 mcm ni dah dibincang dalam project scope of work dalam tendering stage lagi, bidders akan bagi proposal dgn harga tender. Bidder yg boleh comply dgn scope of work dan project target completion date + harga yg berpatutan akan dpt tender . Lepas tu baru boleh into detail design ,bukan suka2 hati boleh ubah.

bagus la u engineer.. tapi tulisan U kat atas tu menampakkan yang susah nak bina + boleh buat masalah lain konon nya untuk selesai masalah lain.. ISU nya kalau nak bina boleh saja kan...

DAN yang buat tander spec ikut perintah samada dari ketua, kerajaan atau menteri

.. kalau depa ni (pemberi arahan) aware atau ada niat nak elak JEM kat traffic light summit dan gaint/USJ 1 masa early step buat tander spec dan arah JKR buat lintasan sebelum keluar TANDER.... boleh saja kan....

"ROW" melintas federal highway sebelum kelana jaya dan NPE dengan Multi-level stacked roundabout interchange boleh dapat.. takkan nak melintas KESAS tak dapat KOT..

Link Subang Kelana Jaya (ROUTE 15) ni melintas 2 highway yang disebutkan tadi dengan jarak lebih 60 meter manakala jarak melintas kesas cuma kurang 50 meter (u tulis kat atas jarak jejambat melintas kesas 120 meter, betul ke? )

U boleh guna google earth, guna apps ruler dan kira sendiri.. cuba try.. memang kurang tetap.. tapi tak lari jauh sangat.. bagi lah relative 5%

JKR yang buat spec mungkin dah 'oversee' kemungkinan2 dari segi pembinaan jambatan untuk highway by pass the traffic light. I'd mentioned the possibilities according to my point of view in the following posting .
